In the section between the Villach junction and the Faaker See junction, the entire carriageway is being renewed and three bridges are being extensively repaired. The central reservation will be equipped with modern restraint systems to increase safety on the route.

The Kostmann team is paying particular attention to the upgrading of the drainage system and the construction of three new water protection systems. In addition, important measures to improve noise protection for local residents are being implemented by replacing and building new noise barriers in some areas.
