Environmental policy

Our environmental policy aims to strengthen the concept of sustainability at all levels of the company and open up individual scope for action. Sustainability is the benchmark for our actions and reflects our self-image as a responsible company. It encompasses not only economic and technical quality, but also ecological and social values.

Our approach goes beyond legal requirements and takes into account the entire value chain from raw material extraction to raw material refinement. Our aim is to manage environmental responsibilities systematically and proactively in order to contribute to the ecological pillar of sustainability.

Integrated management system

Our management system is specially tailored to the requirements in the areas of safety, health, environmental protection, quality and sustainability. It takes into account standard specifications and certificates such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 Safety and Health at Work (SGA-MS), SCC** and EMAS. This system provides the necessary framework to effectively manage and continuously improve sustainability processes.

Environmental principles

Our environmental principles are an expression of our sustainability policy and guide our daily actions:

  • Legal compliance: Compliance with all environmentally relevant laws, regulations and internal requirements
  • Continuous improvement: regular evaluation and improvement of our environmental management system
  • Monitoring: use of key figures to monitor our environmental performance
  • Use of technology: use of the best available technologies for new and replacement investments
  • Procurement: Consideration of environmentally relevant criteria in procurement
  • Conservation of resources: economical use of air, water, soil and resources and focus on waste avoidance and recycling
  • Construction method: Use of resource-saving construction methods and recycled building materials
  • Suppliers: Consideration of indirect environmental aspects, especially for upstream suppliers
  • ‍Employee training: raising awareness and training employees on environmentally friendly behavior

Environmental goals

Our environmental goals are the result of our sustainability policy and environmental principles. They include

  • Short supply chains: optimizing supply chains to reduce environmental impact
  • Resource efficiency: increasing efficiency in the use of resources
  • CO2 reduction: Reduction of CO2 emissions
  • Renewable energies: Increasing the share of renewable energies and increasing the level of self-supply of energy
  • Recycling: substitution of primary raw materials with recycled building materials
  • Digitalization: expanding the level of digitalization
  • Building management: development of an integrated building management system to optimize the HVAC systems (heating, air conditioning, ventilation)
