Completion of the Koralm Railway is in the final phase, particularly in construction sections 50.5 between Eis-Aich in the Jauntal Valley and 62.3 at the Jauntal Bridge, which took place from 2020 to 2024.
Two bridges were built on the 4 km section from Eis to Aich and approx. 1 million m³ of earth and broken concrete were moved and recycled, which represents a clear commitment to sustainable construction.
The Kostmann team was involved in the extension of the 420m long and 96m high Jauntal bridge to two tracks. The old steel structure was removed and transported away by rail in an environmentally friendly manner.
The line is already in operation and enables speeds of up to 230 km/h, which represents a significant step in the modernization of the railroad infrastructure in Austria.
